Women's National Basketball Teams
NATIONAL TEAMS · FIBA website ↗
This hub follows leading women's national basketball teams, who compete under FIBA. Women's basketball became an Olympic sport at Montreal 1976, and 3x3 was added as a separate Olympic event at Tokyo 2020. The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup has been held every four years since 1953 — the United States won the 2026 edition in Berlin for a twelfth title — and the next is in Tokyo in 2030, moving to a November and December slot. Four continental cups are contested in odd-numbered years: Women's EuroBasket, the Women's AmeriCup, the Women's Asia Cup and the Women's AfroBasket. In between, national teams play qualifying in FIBA windows of nine to eleven days, usually in November, February and March.
