Women's National Ice Hockey Teams
NATIONAL TEAMS · League Website ↗ · Android App ↗ · iOS App ↗
This hub follows leading women's national ice hockey teams, who compete under the International Ice Hockey Federation. Women's ice hockey became an Olympic sport at Nagano 1998, and the next Winter Olympics is in the French Alps in 2030. The IIHF Women's World Championship has been played since 1990 and annually since 1999, and from 2026 it moves from April to November — this year's edition is in Denmark from 6 to 16 November. It is a promotion-and-relegation pyramid rather than a single tournament: ten teams contest the top division, and nations move between divisions from year to year. There has been no continental championship since 1996, though the IIHF launches a European Women's Championship in April 2027. Between events teams meet in international breaks, usually as four-nation tournaments or short bilateral series.
